Motorola RiscPC Plus
The RiscPC Plus is an economy PowerPC Reference Platform (PReP) machine compared to the custom, fancier and more expandable PowerStack systems. It used mostly off-the-shelf, commodity "beige PC" parts. I received this particular unit from an acquaintance in one of the local Linux user groups. It's a bit worse for wear, but I filled out the RAM slots and added a SCSI HDD I had lying around. PReP boot firmware allowed me to install Debian over BOOTP/TFTP via the serial console without need for its missing removable media boot drives. Its PowerPC 604 was much faster than the PowerStack's 603 than the twice-as-fast clock would imply.
